Welcome to Boldon CA Amateur Swimming Club Website.

The club was founded in 1978 with the basic idea of making swimming available to everyone. 30 years on we're still going strong, run by our team of dedicated volunteers.

We swim in the 25m pool in Boldon School Sports Centre and our membership ranges from non-swimmers (age 5 and over) to the Masters League swimmers (with an unlimited age range). On Monday night (our club night) over 180 members swim in six different sessions with varying abilities. We hold additional training and teaching sessions on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

Our competitive members regularly swim in local and regional galas around the North-East, and in some national galas around the country.

Swim 21:

Boldon CA Swimming Club is proud to announce that we have gained the prestigious Swim21 accreditation from the ASA, for the 'Teaching' and 'Skill Development' classifications.

As part of this we have also been awarded the nationally recognised ClubMark accreditation.

Overall this shows that the club's administration is operating to a high standard, that we are ensuring that our volunteers are trained to the required standard, and that we have partnerships with other clubs and academic establishments providing a progressive path into the sport.

The Teaching classification shows that the club is delivering a high quality teaching programme with competitive opportunities and a progressive awards scheme.

The Skill development classification shows that the club is delivering a training and competition plan suitable for its swimmers, that we make an appropriate number of training sessions available at a suitable distance and that we ensure that the competitive swimmers hold the appropriate classifications and awards required for competition.
