Our club was founded in 1978 with the basic idea of making swimming ‘open to all’ of the younger members of our local community. 40 years later we’re still going strong, with our team of dedicated volunteers providing quality lessons and training sessions to about 200 swimmers.

We swim in the 4 lane 25m pool in Boldon School Sports Centre and the pool in Boldon Community Association. Our membership ranges from non-swimmers (age 5 and over) to the Masters League swimmers (with unlimited age range). Our main sessions run on Mondays when the majority of swimmers attend one of ten sessions with varying abilities. We hold additional teaching and training sessions on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

Update 26/09:

This week we're opening up some more places in the sessions, to make sure that all of our plans work at full capacity. We are inviting some of the swimmers who were attending the extra sessions available during the week before lockdown. If you're in a lengths session but haven't heard from us yet, hang in there and hopefully we will have more news regarding the planned phased restart soon.

A reminder regarding width swimmers. The survey explained that we were going to wait after the schools went back to see what happened with infection rates. I think we all know how that went. So at the moment we have no plans to restart width sessions yet..

We aren't currently accepting any new swimmers into the club (as at the moment the spaces that we have are needed for our existing swimmers), but you can register your interest to be contacted when we open again here: https://bit.ly/3cgDr4R

Our competitive members regularly swim in local and regional galas in the North East, and in some national galas around the country.

We are affiliated to Swim England and are an affiliated member of the Royal Lifesaving Society.

Our club has held both Swim England's SwimMark accreditation (formerly Swim21) and the Sport England Clubmark accreditation since 2009.
